Title

Lying coming With Age

Problem Scenario

The only way that this experiment will help the world is that it's slightly interesting.

Broad Question

Does age effect a persons heart rate when lying.

Specific Question

Does the age of a person effect the speed of their heart rate when lying?

Hypothesis

People under the age of 10's heart rate will speed up faster than a person over the age of 10 when telling a lie.

General Plan

  • Where will you conduct this experiment? If not at school where are you going to put your experiment so that it doesn't bother anyone, you can assure it won't be disrupted by pets or babies, and it will be safe from changes in temperature or movement? I will perform my experiment at my house. My experiment will not disturb anyone.
  • What will you actually be doing? For example, measuring something, timing something... I will be measuring
  • What are some potential problems you may encounter and how will you solve them?
  • What are the safety and environmental concerns?

Detailed Procedure

1. Make a list of questions to ask the people.
2. Check their resting heart rate.
3. Ask the questions and ask them to tell the truth on half the questions and lie on half the questions.
4. Do the math to figure out the difference between the resting and lying heart rate.
5. compare the results.
